Video Configuration Quick Guide

Introduction

This quick reference guide provides a step-by-step overview of the complete video configuration process in ALAS, from upload to submission for processing. Use it as a checklist to ensure you've completed all necessary configuration steps.

Configuration Workflow

Step 1: Upload Video

  1. Navigate to the Videos section
  2. Click the Upload Video button
  3. Select your video file or drag it to the upload area
  4. Wait for upload to complete
  5. Verify the video appears in your Unprocessed Videos list

Step 2: Basic Information

  1. Click on your unprocessed video to open the configuration panel
  2. Complete the following required fields:
    • Title: A descriptive name for the video
    • Date Recorded: The actual recording date
    • Start Time: When the recording began
    • Operator: The person performing the work
    • Module: The workstation or area
    • Order: The work order or job number

Step 3: Activity Definition

  1. Navigate to the Activities tab
  2. Click Add Activity for each activity you want to track
  3. For each activity, enter:
    • Activity Name: Clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Material Preparation")
    • Category: The type of activity (e.g., "Value-Added")
    • Color: Optional color coding for the activity

Step 4: ROI Configuration

  1. Select an activity from your list
  2. Click Enter Drawing Mode
  3. Draw ROIs on the video for each relevant work area
  4. For each ROI, configure:
    • Name: A descriptive label
    • Min Body Points: Required points (1-6) to trigger detection
    • Priority: Importance level (1-5) for conflict resolution
  5. Repeat for all activities

Step 5: Activity Rules (Optional)

  1. Select an activity from your list
  2. Click the Rules tab
  3. Review the default rule (automatically created)
  4. Add custom rules as needed:
    • Define complex relationships between ROIs
    • Set target activities for rule-based time attribution

Step 6: Manual Timestamps (Optional)

  1. Select an activity from your list
  2. Click the Manual Timestamps tab
  3. Use the video player to add timestamps for activities that:
    • Require precise timing
    • Cannot be accurately captured by ROIs
    • Need special attention

Step 7: Additional Parameters

Configure any system-specific parameters:

  • Belt Parameters (if applicable)
  • Sections/Subsections (if applicable)
  • Special Detection Options (if applicable)

Step 8: Review and Submit

  1. Click the Review Configuration tab
  2. Verify all required fields are completed
  3. Check for any warnings or potential issues
  4. Click Submit for Processing when ready

Verification Checklist

Before submitting, ensure:

  • [ ] All required fields in Basic Information are completed
  • [ ] At least one Activity is defined
  • [ ] All Activities have at least one ROI defined
  • [ ] Priority levels are assigned appropriately across ROIs
  • [ ] Activity Rules are configured for complex workflows (if needed)
  • [ ] Manual Timestamps are added for hard-to-detect activities (if needed)

Next Steps

After submitting your video for processing:

  1. You will receive a notification when processing is complete
  2. The video will move to the Processed Videos section
  3. Open the processed video to view analysis results
  4. Export reports as needed for further analysis
